God Will

Scripture Focus: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” — Isaiah 55:8–9

When we think about God’s will, obedience often comes to mind. Yet few pause to consider what true obedience really means. To walk fully in God’s will is to relinquish every desire of your own heart in order to fulfill the purpose He has placed in you. It requires readiness to move when He says go, to be still when He says stop, to listen when He wants your ear, and to speak when He needs your voice.

Sometimes, the very things we long for, comfort, security, familiarity, are the things God is asking us to release. Operating in His will is rarely easy; it is a daily discipline that demands endurance and trust.

Scripture reminds us of this challenge: “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” — Matthew 8:20

True obedience may call you to leave behind jobs, family expectations, or the comfort you’ve stored in your life. God’s desire is not for us to be comfortable, but to live fully in the purpose He has designed. When we step into the unknown, His presence sustains us, and His peace provides for us—even when it looks different than we imagined.

Prayer is key to remaining in God’s will: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18

Through prayer, we align our hearts with His, gaining the strength and clarity to pursue our God-given calling. Obedience involves discipline, endurance, and a focus on serving others while giving glory to God. The mission of life is not to fulfill personal desires but to advance His Kingdom.
